Super collectable hand made in England 1885 dated folding cards Chessboard games table with removable tray top A very good looking and decorative table, it has some truly sublime inlay to the top, there is a very ornate chess board as you can see, to the right its dated 1885 under what looks like a family’s initials crest, to the left a floral design, this is all marquetry inlay and looks exquisite! The top removes and flips over which shows a flamed mahogany drinks or snacks serving tray or it can be used for cards, the whole thing folds away, the base frame is what’s called famboo which is basically fake bamboo, in the 18th century when England first started exploring China, we brought back works of art and furniture which cabinet makers of the day copied, this was there take on bamboo tables In terms of the condition it has been deep cleaned hand condition waxed and polished from top to bottom, it will naturally have some patination here and there from genuine age and honest use Dimensions Height:- 59.5cm Width:- 85cm Depth:- 48.5cm
