Scandinavian Modern Teak Boomerang Drop-Leaf Coffee Table from Samcom, 1960s

Made of teak, this gorgeous piece was created from one piece of wood that was cut at a particular angle, then designed and assembled in such a way, that the symmetry at the junction and on either side of it, has wood grains and patterns, that match and flow beautifully into one another.

What is noticeably and distinctly unique about this boomerang coffee table that differs from others, are three particular features:
~ It truly looks like an actual boomerang, regardless of what angle one views at it (see photos.)
~ It has 2 drop leaves with 2 sliding mechanisms, so it can increase or decrease in size, making it completely versatile and possible for it to be fully open, half open or fully closed, based on one’s needs, or space (see photos.)
~ There are 5 legs (see photos.)

Piece is in overall, good, original, vintage condition. It has only been gently dusted and polished, in order to respect its original condition and natural patina of time. There are, of course, some marks and signs of age and previous marks of usage commensurate with time, on the top, leaves, legs and overall structure (see photos), but nothing that affects its beauty or functionality.
~ Both of the sliding mechanisms underneath the table used to open or “drop” the leaves, work perfectly and effortlessly.
~ The table carries its original mark, that says “Samcom” (see photos.)
~ Incredibly well-made, the piece remains stable and solid.
