Veneer chest of drawers, transition style.
Its top is a sumptuous 3cm thick marble, in the tone terre de sienne with white veining. It presents a decroach that follows the movement of the chest of drawers, with a protrusion and a groove around its perimeter.
The central part of the front of the chest of drawers is built with two large hidden traverse drawers of the same depth, the interior of which is in oak. These two drawers are equipped with bronze lock entrance, the first one being dummy, only the lower one equipped with its key locks the two openings. They are provided on each side with bronze pull handles. These drawers, composed of wood arranged in butterfly wings, have greek framing nets. The sides of this piece of furniture are not to be neglected either because the wood is arranged in the same way as the front.
This chest of drawers is supported by four legs, those of the front with a cut-off panel ending in a doe foot. There is a bronze chute in the upper part as well as on the hump of the foot, and a sabot in the lower part. The pan coupé is decorated with two fillets of light wood.
We note the inscription “Le grand trianon” under the marble and a stamp on the wood under the marble representing a golden fleur de lys.
This elegant chest of drawers with reasonable dimensions will be invited in an interior arranged with taste, and where the quality of its marqueteries will be noticed.
