We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare totally original Herve Liege Belgium hand carved oak Wainscot oak armchair circa 1760 A very well made original piece, the chair is known as a Herve Liege chair, they rarely if ever come up for sale This one is a particularly nice example with lovely details such as carving to the front and backs of the arms, the seat base rails are also nicely detailed, the back splat has what looks like peacocks, this would have been a very important persons chair We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there will be normal age related patina marks, most likely some old repairs and so on.
